$99,750.00

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

Fathom Green • Black Vinyl Top • DZ 302 • M22 Rock Crusher

This 1969 Camaro Z/28 represents everything that made Chevrolet’s Trans-Am homologation special legendary. Finished in striking Fathom Green (57) with a black “halo” vinyl roof, this Norwood-built Z/28 showcases an exceptional combination of correct drivetrain components, desirable early-production features, and excellent overall presentation.

At the heart of this car is its correct DZ-code 302 cubic-inch V8, rebuilt less than 500 miles ago. The engine features the proper 3932388 block, Winters aluminum intake (3932472), and correct 3927186 cylinder heads dated October 1968. A four-barrel carburetor is currently installed for drivability, and the correct DZ-stamped November 1968 carburetor is included with the car. Additional correct details include the proper 3947772 fan, deep-groove pulleys, 8-inch balancer, correct 3858403 bellhousing, and original-style Z/28 valve covers.

Power is delivered through the highly sought-after M22 “Rock Crusher” four-speed transmission (3935660) and out back to a correct BU-coded 3.73 Positraction rear end, providing the aggressive gearing and mechanical feel Z/28s are known for.

The suspension remains true to Z/28 specification, featuring coil springs up front, correct four-leaf rear springs (Z/28 only), and a correct Saginaw quick-ratio steering box (5679142). Braking is handled by power front discs with rear drums, offering a great balance of period correctness and drivability.

Visually, the car presents extremely well. The Fathom Green paint is complemented by a silver grille, cowl-induction hood, and excellent trim and chrome throughout. Both the rear bumper and optional front bumper overriders are present, and the glass is in excellent condition, with most pieces believed to be original. The car rides on new Rally wheels with trim rings and hubcaps, wrapped in new BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires (215/65R15 front, 225/65R15 rear).

Inside, the Camaro features a very nice black vinyl interior with correct detailing. Highlights include the 7,000-RPM tachometer (correct for early ’69 cars), Hurst shifter, AM/FM radio, and seatbelts with shoulder harnesses dated the 49th week of 1968. Even the details are right, including the correct wiper motor (5045572).

VIN Decode confirms this car as a genuine V8 coupe built in Norwood, Ohio, and the cowl tag further authenticates its identity as a true Z/28 with X77 Special Performance Equipment, built the third week of December 1968 (12C).

This is an outstanding opportunity to own a properly equipped, highly correct 1969 Camaro Z/28 that captures the look, sound, and mechanical character that made these cars icons of the muscle car era—ready to enjoy, show, or add to a serious collection.STK2004
