Discover Your Dream Classic Car

Taylorsville native, Chris Clemons started Alexander Auto LLC in 2017, in part to support is growing collection of collector cars. Since then, Alexander Auto has became more involved in buying selling and trading classics than that of a growing hobby. In recent years Chris has been  selling a variety of classics to a wider market.

In the winter of 2024, Chris realized that he’d like to expand the company and make Alexander Auto LLC a trussed and FUN place to purchase your next collector car. Our General Manager, Brian Barr joined us in January of 2025 to help accelerate the process.

Together Chris and Brian the vision for Alexander Auto LLC is to be the Fun and APPROACHABLE vintage car dealer. No hassles, great vehicles and a fun buy-in experience… after all its that why you want a collector car in the first place? Have FUN and enjoy the RIDE.

Our Journey and Vision

Founded in 2017 by Taylorsville native Chris Clemons, Alexander Auto LLC began as a passion project to support his growing collection of classic cars. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a thriving business focused on buying, selling, and trading vintage and collector vehicles.

By 2024, Chris recognized the opportunity to expand Alexander Auto into a trusted and enjoyable destination for car enthusiasts seeking their next classic ride. To support this vision, Brian Barr joined the team as General Manager in January 2025, bringing new energy and expertise to help drive the business forward.

At Alexander Auto LLC, our goal is simple: to be the fun, approachable vintage car dealer you can count on. We believe buying a collector car should be an exciting and hassle-free experience—because at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about: having fun and enjoying the ride.

Chris Clemons

Founder & Owner

Chris Clemons is a proud Taylorsville native and successful entrepreneur with a strong commitment to reinvesting in his community. As the owner of multiple local businesses and commercial real estate developments, Chris plays a vital role in the city’s growth and revitalization.

A lifelong car enthusiast, Chris developed a passion for automobiles at an early age. While he appreciates vehicles from the late 1930s and early ’40s, he has a particular fondness for Tri-Five Chevrolets. His impressive collection includes award-winning hot rods, RestoMod muscle cars, and classic Chevrolet trucks from the 1950s.

Chris shares his passion with his wife, who is equally car-crazy and incredibly supportive. Together, they embrace the classic car lifestyle and frequently travel to shows across the country in one of their vintage rides.

Brian Barr

General Manager

General Manager: Brian Barr
“Here lies Brian Barr: Racer, Writer, Rocker.” That’s how I’ve always imagined my headstone.

My love for cars started young, fueled by dreams of California highways and countless hours spent flipping through Hot Rod and Road & Track. My dad—a true car guy and hands-on mechanic—was my first mentor, and I was his eager assistant. Weekend drives with my grandfathers sharpened my eye for hidden gems, as we searched the countryside for classic cars.

That early passion grew into a lifelong career in the automotive world. I’ve held diverse roles across the industry—from finance and vintage car sales to working with prestigious marques like Ferrari. My enthusiasm for automotive history also led to contributing to two books on barn finds, chronicling adventures across the country as my buddy’s right-hand man on the ultimate treasure hunt for forgotten vehicles.

Outside the garage, I’ve spent time on stage as a drummer and guitarist in local bands, and even managed a country music tour in the ‘90s. While music is a creative outlet, cars have always been the heartbeat of my life.

Today, I’m proud to call Cornelius, North Carolina home—a self-proclaimed gearhead, vintage racer, and motorcycle enthusiast still chasing the next great ride.
